The Waitsfield Inn falls quite short of what it takes to be a great inn. When I think of a Vermont country inn, I think of comfort, ambiance, and gracious hosts. For our family, it is really the best place in the region. We have stayed there both in summer and winter. The Inn is perfect for us and we always look forward to our trips. It is everything you could ever want from an Inn historic farmhouse from the early 1800s, roaring fireplace in comfortable living room, small reading room with fireplace, old fashioned candy store for the kids, well stocked bar on site, great guest rooms in tasteful style, wonderful gourmet breakfasts and most importantly - excellent hosts Jon and Vickie. We stay there usually about 3x a year for 3 or 4 days each time while we are skiing at Mad River Glen. The Waitsfield Inn is our family's favorite vacation lodge in Vermont.
